    Description

    Offered is an antique British Merchant Marine flag, with a bright red field and Union Jack as the canton. The flag is machine stitched along the canton and hoist, with a contrasting white hand-stitch along the fly. The hoist features the handwritten inscription "England" at the top. The Red Ensign or "Red Duster" is a British ensign used on merchant ships since the early 18th century. The flag is still used as a civil ensign throughout the United Kingdom.
